An allusion to the tangled lifescape of the colonial Scots and their romance with the Malabar. These silk tartans display the vibrancy of Malabar colours and the timelessness and texture of centuries old hand weaving and Dyeing.
Francis Buchanan's journal "A Journey from Madras through Mysore, Canara and Malabar" published in 1807 gives credence to the story. The Asian Educational Services of New Delhi gave full recognition when publishing a facsimile of the journals in 1988.
