This elegant hand decorated Porcelain Table Lamp is Guilia Mangani’s representation of a porcelain Grecian Urn (Amphora) mounted on a porcelain pedestal with brilliant white swan neck handles. A cast brass stand cradles the pedestal and holds the lamp erect.
In “Blazon”, Ode to a Grecian Urn, Ruben Dario describes the snowy white swan as being of divine origin, with a neck like the handle of a Grecian Urn. Dario wrote in the last stanza “give the swans your love, for they are gods of an alluring land and are made of perfume and ermine, of white light, of silk and of dreams.
