This 44-piece Spode Consul Dinner Service is an ideal six-place setting. Each piece, a rich Cobalt Blue on pure white ground accentuated with fine gold bands. Spode’s answer to the Royal Worcester “Howard” Pattern.
The brilliant white porcelain ground enhances each plated dish, whether hors d’oeuvres, an entree, or dessert. The definitive rich blue and gold lend an immaculate elegance.
No evidence of use except for three plates with very slight stacking scratches. The glaze is grand and clear. A wonderful opportunity to own an original unused Spode Consul Dinner Service.
Spode produced the Consul pattern from 1989 to 2005. In 2008, both the Spode factory and the Royal Worcester factory went into administration. In 2009, the Portmeirion Pottery Group acquired the brand name and intellectual property of Spode and Royal Worcester. In this process, this Dinner Service made in the original factory became unique and a future heirloom. Love provenance.
Not dishwasher safe, damage to gold banding possible with machine wash.
