A heavy late 19th-century door, manufactured in Pitch Pine and of large dimensions. Originally from a seminary, the door was used internally for the dormer rooms.
Approximately 79-80 inches high by 38-39inches wide, each in the original varnished finish. Original 19th-century hinges are available at an extra cost.
Each door comprises 3 long panels over 3 short panels with all internal edges of stiles and rails chamfered in the Victorian Ecclesiastical style. Each panel is flat and fitted into rabbets in both stiles and rails.
Some of these doors have been reused as external doors. Due to the age, it was deemed prudent to double dowell each of the outer stile and rail joints.
Original Victorian mortise latches, without handles, are available, each needs refurbishment and requires a reproduction key made.
