This Rosenthal Century Periband (Grey Dot) Covered Sugar Bowl is Tapio Wirkkala’s beautiful porcelain tableware interpretation of Rosenthal’s 100th-year celebration. For this porcelain form, Tapio Wirkkala received honours in Industrial Design. Back stamped with 100 years of Rosenthal.
With the “Century” design transparency is particularly remarkable, The point relief is directed inward; when held to the light there are two densities of translucence giving a remarkable dispersion of light not often found in porcelain. The colours are bright and beautiful.
